What started as a small renovation at Pier 57’s Bay Pavilion developed into a multiple phase project that has resulted in a series of notable improvements. W.G. Clark has performed work including the renovation of entry areas, restroom improvements, seismic and structural upgrades, the addition of stairs, an elevator, new escalator and ADA lift, photo kiosks, the construction of the heavy timber loading platform for the Great Wheel, and the renovation and expansion of the Fishermans Restaurant, with new outdoor decks and glass folding walls to protect patrons in less than ideal weather.
The project is a prime example of making major changes without affecting the ambiance of this classic Seattle waterfront retail complex, where the new elements were designed to look like they had always been there. Overcoming the challenges of logistics and safety that come with remodeling a 100-year-old building that moves with the seabed of Puget Sound, we have helped breathe new life into this local treasure for many years to come.
