The Slate project, located in the Interbay area of Seattle between Queen Anne Hill and Magnolia, represented the first large mixed-use residential project in the area. It includes a mix of townhomes, studio units, and one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with retail space and parking. Additional features include a fitness center, media and game rooms, and a dog wash.
Salvaged materials, including wood from a salvage yard, granite from the City of Seattle, and materials from the developer’s other properties, have been incorporated into the project, which is slated to secure LEED Silver certification. The site is close to several businesses that were concerned about disruption, and extensive community coordination and outreach methods were used to keep the neighbors informed of construction activities.
